Locale tipico Nizzardo…fuori dal contesto turistico, prezzi nella media.
Abbiamo mangiato bene, la signora che ci ha servito era gentilissima e simpatica.
Insalata nizzarda ottima!
This jewel of a restaurant is a cozy family owned venture with indoor and outdoor seating. Its roots go back to 1908! The menu is well done with all the French favorites but with the chef’s own special twist. I only had room for a couple appetizers which were totally amazing. Presentation is its own statement of care and quality! I enjoyed a delightfully prepared canard foie gras served with toast points, jam, and a small salad featuring fresh fennel slices. I then tried the escargot which did not disappoint. They were large, tender, and a joy to tackle with the appropriate tools provided.
My dining partner tried a main course featuring expertly cooked gnocchi in wine sauce, with dried tomatoes, ham, and cheese. Verdict? Uniquely delicious!
Her next course was dessert; Tourte de blette sucrée; a sweet Swiss Chard pie garnished with whipped cream and eatable flowers; a feast for the eyes! We will go back tomorrow to sample more dishes as we were too full to continue on! We ended our meal with espresso and a surprise Limoncello from Olivier the chef. The owners were present and added to the delightful experience of the evening. Pricing is fair and specials are available. Their passion for creatively tasty dishes is evident. Try Voyageur Nissart.
